What’s your desert island band?

When music is as essential to your life as it is to mine, it’s hard to pick a “favorite” anything—song, album, or artist. Of all of those options though, choosing one band or artist at least gives you the breadth of an entire discography that expresses your taste. That’s why I want to know: if you were stuck on a desert island and could only listen to one artist or band, who would it be?

My choice would be Bright Eyes, because they experimented with a range of genres and I’d have access to a diverse collection of songs. But perhaps you prefer listening to an artist who excelled in one particular type of music, or who mastered a certain instrument. Let us know what your choice would be in this thread!

Motorhead to keep me sane and grounded, their album Rock 'n; Roll from '87. If I could find a record player on the island, vinyl would be my preferred choice ;0)
