Tips for navigating and posting in the Community Hub
Hi everyone,
I’m Sabah, a Forums Manager here at Etsy. 👋 Welcome to the new and improved Community Hub! The Hub is your home for connection, learning, and growth — no matter where you’re at on your journey as a creative business owner.
In this post, I’ll share an overview of how to use our community spaces along with tips for getting the most of these improved tools and resources.
Before we dive in, here's a glossary of common terms used in the Forums:
Boards: Used within the Forums to organize different discussions and questions by popular topics like Marketing, Shipping, or Shop Critiques.
Discussions are for open conversations, sharing experiences, or exchanging insights with other sellers.
Questions (new!) are used if you’re asking for specific assistance, information, or feedback from other sellers.
Posts: Members can create a new post in the Forums to start a discussion or ask a question.
Replies: Continue the conversation by leaving a comment on the original post, or replying to another member's post.
Threads: A thread refers to an original Forums post and any replies.
Let’s jump in! 🚀
🧭 Navigating the Community Hub
The Community Hub houses Forums, Teams, educational resources, seller events, and more – all in one central destination. In the top navigation, you’ll find links for:
The Community Hub Homepage: Explore trending discussions and use the AI-powered search to find answers across Etsy resources, like the Seller Handbook and Help Center.
Announcements: Get the latest on Etsy news, product updates, and community highlights. Don’t miss the Community Newsletter for top stories.
Etsy Forums: Find and follow topics that matter to you. Join or start discussions, reply with emoji reactions, and connect with other sellers.
Education and Insights: Grow your business with educational content, seller tips, and expert resources from across Etsy. Register for live events, or watch past workshops anytime. Learn more.
Etsy Teams: Join or start a Team based on your interests, location, or niche. Host virtual events, connect with members, and become a Team Captain.
Shop Manager: Jump back to your Shop Manager anytime.
Pro tip:
Use your Community Hub profile to add information about yourself and help other sellers learn more about you. Select your profile image in the top right corner of the Community Hub and select Profile to update your bio and profile image, track your badges, see your recent discussions, and manage event RSVPs. From the Profile page, you can also customize your Community Hub notification settings based on your preferences. Learn more.
If you’re not seeing all of your previous community profile information in the new Hub right away, don’t worry! Some of the information is still moving over to the new space and should be available soon.
💡 How to use the Etsy Forums
The Forums are a platform for sharing ideas, asking questions, and connecting with other sellers. When you arrive on the Community Hub homepage, you can browse, select, and start engaging with trending discussions, or navigate directly to the Etsy Forums using the top navigation to view all community discussions.
Once you’re in the Etsy Forums space, you can see even more trending discussion and explore boards by topic using the sidebar navigation. Selecting All Etsy Forums from the sidebar provides a list view of all available boards. If you’re an established Forums user, you may notice we’ve made a few changes here to help keep things clear and organized!
Pro tip: Within an individual Forums’ board, select Subscribe to receive notifications about new activity on the topic-specific boards you’re interested in following. You’ll also see a list of the boards you’re subscribed to in the Forums sidebar.
🚨 How to report Forums content: If you believe content on the Forums may be violating Etsy’s Community Policy, you can report it by using the three-dot menu on the post or reply and selecting Report. Your report will be reviewed by moderators.
💬 Ready to start a new discussion or ask a question?
If you'd like to start a discussion or ask a question, start by using the top navigation search bar to review existing Forums posts to see if your topic is already being explored. If a discussion or question already exists for your topic, feel free to reply to it. Keeping the conversation in one place makes it easier for others to follow along.
To start a new discussion or ask a question:
In the Community Hub, select Forums from the top navigation .
Select New post, then choose whether your post fits best as a discussion or a question.
Select Discussion if you’d like to start an open conversation, share experiences, or exchange insights with other sellers.
Select Question if you’re asking for specific assistance, information, or feedback from other sellers.
Choose Select a category board and pick a topic your post relates to from the dropdown list.
Provide a descriptive title and elaborate on your topic in the description field. Be sure to keep our Community Policy in mind as you write.
To add tags to your post, select Add tags and select from the dropdown. To remove a tag, select the X next to its name.
Once you're satisfied with your post, select Post to publish it for others to engage with.
Pro tip:
To add an image to your post, select the image icon located in the toolbar at the top of the text editor box.
All images are reviewed for safety and compliance with our Community Guidelines.Any image or hyperlink added to a post is subject to approval by the moderation team, which could take up to 24 hours.
For more details on navigating the Community Hub, we recommend visiting the Help Center, reviewing FAQs in our Q&A thread, or taking our new AI-powered search tool on the Hub’s homepage for a spin. To share feedback on the new Hub, please take this quick survey. We are actively monitoring responses here and will continue improving the experience over time!

·2 months agoHi everyone,
I'm new to Etsy so I wasn't sure where to go for this question. I'm trying to send a package to Canada and Etsy's shipping labels section says "No delivery services are available for this package". What do I do? Am I missing a form that should of been filled out? Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Bella

·3 months agoHi everyone, I'm new to this 'new' forum and would like to ask a question. With the ongoing postal increases how are you sellers dealing with it? Have your sales been impacted by the higher postal rates? Are you using alternative shipping options aside from the USPS? What kind of discounts are you offering and still being able to make your sale profitable? How much or are you incorporating the shipping costs into the price of your items? I've tried combinations of these various options but still struggling with shipping costs. Any insight would be welcomed, thank you for your input and time.

·8 months ago@SabahStyle It would be most helpful if there was monitoring of threads started by Etsy Admin to remove posts irrelevant to the discussion, or the thread closed when it's run its course. This one has gone off the rails for the most part. Any valuable "tip" information is hidden among the "what's wrong with my shop" and other off-topic posts.

Danke

·8 months agoI'm here on Etsy 14 years and this is the worst community forum design ever since. It's very complicated to find any useful information like teams that I used to sign in for all this years and post my listing photo not only the link. In regards of the shop updates is the same issue. Shop updates is every 6 hours but I'm looking for real time updates but E suggested to check for the last 30 days. Promoting my items everywhere around also doesn't help no views after promoting or offering sale discounts. I tried different way by lowering prices, free shipping or other Etsy's suggested options. Nothing helps to drive buyers to my shop. This November is the worst month this year. No visits, favorites or sales.

·9 months agoHi why has the Etsy Ai bot been malfunctioning the last week .its been making multiple items ( up for2 -3 years) accounting for 1000 out-of 3000 sales prohibited..plastic victorinox handles with a pocket clip attached..esty support are I'm assuming Ai because their total lack of understanding or explanation as to why. They cannot cite the exact reason.
CarpetCollectionAU
·8 months agoLooks like you already know the answer to your issue. Victorinox is protecting its Intellectual Property, as it is compelled to do if it wants to maintain rights to the TM
From your About section
"Victorinox is actively targeting my items for bogus intellectual property rights violations...seems they don't know what modded means.".
I presume "modded" is a typo snd you mean "modified"? Basically you are adding a clip to a Victornox product and using the Victorinox TM Name to sell your "product"
You cannot circumvent TM Laws with this disclainer
"please note all items sold are original Victorinox. I may alter texture add clips this in no way affects intellectual property rights.#"
Also, you are Listing in the "Handmade" catefory, but you are not "Handmaking" the product, just the "clip".
You can sell these products if they are over 20 years old and Listed as "Handpicked"

·9 months agoMy sold items are presently private to the public. I want to access them to see what I have sold in the last month. I want to see all the sold items with one or two clicks of my mouse as I did a a little over a week ago. Now I click on a sold item and it takes me to the link with photo that says "sorry this item has been sold" with pictures of other similar items I might be interested in instead. This is nonsense. The busy holiday season is coming up. I am a creator/seller, not an office person spending time going thru hoops reading very lengthy instructions etc on my computer on how to navigate each new change. People creating and selling on Etsy are not all young computer savvy people. Why is everything getting more complex, including the forums?
PrairiePrimitives
·8 months ago@SilverRiverDesignsWA There's a clickable link to see your sold items below the Sections, at least on the desktop or laptop version of the site. It took me a long time to find this because I'm used to looking for it at the top of the screen.

·9 months agoWhy do you have an etsy originated post from 2021 in the "Celebrating success" tab? seems just a bit outdated. (And, yes i tried to post message in that tab - etsy did not post it.... Hmmm? I don't think Etsy likes to be criticized) . I do not like new format - does not encourage real and honest interaction. Etsy seems to be "hovering" instead of listening to the critical posts. If the Etsy design team could get down from their high horses and stop congratulating themselves on what a great job they and get on the ground floor and listen to the seller/buyers.

Lusnika
·9 months agoThank you. The search tool needs very, very basic improvements. I can't get full search results, and this is important because sometimes the answer might be in an old discussion. Also, I can't sort the results by preference, as in, Newest/Oldest, Most Replied, or basically filter the results. Being able to choose where to look would be good. In example, I don't need every result with the "package", I should be able to eliminate comments. So in this state, the search tool most likely will be tiresome and unhelpful, and as a result, sellers will start opening new discussions even though the answer is already there.

Hi everyone! 👋 Sabah here again from the Community Team.
A big thank-you to everyone who’s been exploring the new Community Hub, sharing questions, and joining our live walkthrough event last week
In case you missed it, my teammates and I hosted a Community Hub walkthrough event last week. During the event, we go over how to navigate the new Hub, post in the Forums, explore and participate in Etsy Teams, and make the most of the new tools and features that can help you connect with other sellers and grow your shop. Watch the replay here.

·9 months agoWhy is Etsy such a hassle to deal with? They paid me less than they agreed to. On the order it says one amount then when they say funds are on the way, it’s less. No explanation. No way to ask. Not that I could find at least.
TilDeathStudios
·9 months agoDid you figure it out? Are you looking at just the item / sale price on the order? If so, that's considerably higher than the funds you'll actually get paid. Look into your Payment Account & you'll see a breakdown of the fees charged before the remaining money is credited to your account. Also, make sure you're not opted into offsite ads if you don't want to be. They apparently have a habit of opting people in, unknowingly.
They also charge fees on shipping, so take this into consideration when costing your items. Hope this helps!
TilDeathStudios
·9 months agoI've just seen you've been selling here for 3 years, so assume you would already know about the fees? Could the discrepancy in payment due vs received be down to shipping labels purchased or autorenews of listings? I had that issue recently & took me a while to figure out tbh

·9 months agoI can't figure out how to get anywhere, other than the handful of threads the AI is deciding to show me. When I click on the three choices given on the sidebar on the left (boards, browse by content type, subscriptions), which sound like navigation methods, literally nothing happens. When I try to click on the name of a forum in at the top of one of those curated threads in hopes of being taken to that entire forum so that I can page through recently posted threads there and perhaps post a new thread of my own, I get a mostly-blank page with the error message in small type, "Something went wrong. Please try again. Try again."
One thing I can do is select from the very limited options in the "Tags" dropdown and get threads marked with that tag, but they are a mix of five-day-old with five-year-old threads.
I can see the button to create a new post, but navigating among exist ones so that I can choose which ones I want to read baffles me.
