Introducing the Climate Academy, in partnership with Nest
Hi sellers,
I’m Chelsea, Head of Impact and Sustainability at Etsy. We know that as small business owners, even small disruptions to your shop can have a big impact. As part of our ongoing efforts to support our seller community before, during and after a natural disaster, I’m excited to share that in partnership with Nest, we’ve launched the Climate Academy – a free, online learning hub for makers designed to help you understand climate risks and build practical strategies to keep your business resilient.
The Climate Academy offers a wide range of tools and resources in one place, including guides on disaster preparedness and recovery, climate resilience planning, and a growing database of resources you can turn to when you need support. You’ll also find short, self-paced learning modules that walk through topics like assessing climate risks, adapting your business operations, and building more sustainable practices over time.
From managing inventory to caring for family members, we know that small business owners are juggling many responsibilities at once. These resources are designed to be flexible and easy to explore at your own pace. Our goal is to help you feel more prepared and supported when facing climate related challenges that can affect your work and livelihood.
While the Climate Academy is open to our global community, the current courses and resources are currently available in English, and some program elements are specific to U.S.-based makers at this time. That said, we hope the tools and insights will still be useful to sellers everywhere, and we plan to continue expanding this program over time.
If you’re interested in learning more, you can explore the Climate Academy here. If you haven’t previously been to the Nest website, you’ll need to create an account to get started. We hope these tools are helpful as you continue building and growing your business!
