Etsy Insights: support each other via social media
Hello! My name is Jess and I’m the Social Media lead here at Etsy. During these tough times, it’s important to support our small business peers more than ever. We know a lot of you are looking for ways to support your Etsy besties, so, I’ve compiled quick and easy ways to support one another on social media and beyond:
Share your go-to Etsy shops on social. Check out the Instagram template we’ve attached to this post below. Feel free to fill this out on your phone and share on Instagram to spread some love to your favorite Etsy sellers.
Share your favorite items on social. Sharing your favorite recent Etsy purchases or items in an Instagram story or carousel post is an easy way to give the sellers you love a shoutout. Make sure to tag or credit them and link back to their shop when you can.
Engage with your peers. Like and comment (even if it’s just to say hi!) on their posts to share encouragement and show your support. You can also retweet their posts on Twitter, pin their items on Pinterest, and share their posts on Facebook and Instagram to help share their work with a wider audience
Host an Instagram Live. Team up with someone in your Etsy network to demonstrate a creative process or a DIY.
Show your gratitude. Send a ‘thank you’ message through email, convo, or DM to a favorite seller. Or, take this one step further and film a ‘thank you’ video to your favorite sellers and post it on your social media accounts.
Leave a review on a peer’s Etsy shop. One positive review goes a long way. Share a review for a recent purchase you made (be sure to keep in mind Etsy’s policies on reviews).
