Etsy Insights: My top trend picks for spring
Hi there! Dayna Isom Johnson here, Etsy’s resident trend expert.
I’m excited to share our latest trend report for sellers, and spotlight a few of my favorite looks that I think will be big for the spring and summer season.
On my radar:
Mood-boosting hues are brightening styles across categories. I’m especially excited about fluorescent fashions.
- Shop tip: try experimenting with fresh color palettes across your product lines. Or, play with your styling and try introducing a pop of color into your props.
Retro graphics like mod daisies and ‘70s geometric patterns are appearing in home decor, clothing, accessories, and paper goods.
- Shop tip: This could be a great opportunity for vintage sellers - keep this in mind when curating your inventory!
Passion for plants is blooming across the site, as seen in shopper’s fascination with botanical prints, fresh spring florals, garden party aesthetics, and plants for refreshing the home.
- Shop tip: If relevant, call out specific types of plants in your titles and tags, in case shoppers have something particular in mind. For example “Scarlet Begonia Plant Illustration” or “Daisy Flower Print Pants”.

·4 years agoSpring and summer are coming and we want sun and light! My artistic universe is sunny and colorful, inspired by the Mediterranean countries that I love so much. I love strolling along my travels and letting myself be lulled by the colors, nature, flowers, architecture, the "dolce vita" spirit... who are a source of inspiration to create bright, generous and authentic illustrations.

·4 years agoGreat ideas - thank you for sharing! Completely agree that colour is important. On my clip frame photographs I always paint the backing board - why? just can't bear the thought of a dull picture, even if it's facing the wall...must be the same feeling as wearing jazzy socks even if no one sees them!
Also appreciate the 'retro' trend ideas...will be thinking of a way to include this too....

- A primary blue (think very bright crayola colour)
- A bright green almost lime but not quite
- A very bright orange
- A bright bubble gum pink
- White and a very creamy off-white
-Periwinkle purple.

Thanks for the tips! Great advice .. I grew up in the 70’s/80’s and love the whole 70’s vibe that seems to be making a comeback. It’s just seems “wholesome and happy” to me . I will definitely look at my products and try to incorporate some of your trending suggestions.

·4 years agoFor a "global" site it would be nice to get some acknowledgement that the other half of the world is going into autumn (aka fall) and winter.
That fact could also benefit sellers in the Northern hemisphere. Etsy could remind sellers of seasonal items that there is still demand for cold weather products/craft supplies so keep them listed during your spring/summer.
I buy a new feature winter scarf/wrap every year in March/April on Etsy.

·4 years agoI love vibrant color too and use it in my artwork. Funny thing is I used to think Bohemian meant vibrant color because it made me think of Gypsies. Then I googled it and the interior decor shown was all white and tan!

·4 years agoWhen spring comes I want to see the colors of the flowers under the sun, now we have more light again and longer days so in spring I always try to add some colorful and cheerful items to my shop wall art full of light and color that makes your home acquire a fresh and cheerful air. Now it's time for vivid tones again after the long winter:)
