Etsy Insights: Creating Holiday Social Content for Your Shop
Hi everyone, I’m Tida and I work on Etsy’s Social Media team.
The busy holiday season is in full swing, and for creative entrepreneurs, that often comes with posting a bit more on your socials! If you’re looking for ideas to help make your holiday social content sparkle, I’ve rounded up a few fresh, engaging ways for you to showcase your products and connect with buyers on Instagram during this season.
🎁 Gift Guide Highlights: Help your audience find the perfect gift!
Create themed posts like ‘Gifts for the Host,’ ‘Stocking Stuffers Under $25,’ or ‘For the Person Who Has Everything.’
Try this: Create a carousel post with text and product images on each slide so buyers can easily browse through your ideas. Think of it as your mini gift guide!
✨ New Product Reveal: Build excitement and create buzz around your next launch.
Add a little mystery with text on screen like “The wait is over…” or “Only here for the holidays!”
Try this: Start with teasers or close-ups before the launch of your newest product, collection, or restock. Then do a reveal in a reel or carousel.
🎬 Your Product in Action: Help buyers picture your items in their world!
Consider posting lifestyle photos in a carousel or create short reels showing your packaging, quick demos, or unboxings. Don’t forget to top it off with a festive song!
Try this: Use TOS (text on screen) like ‘Watch me create my bestseller!’ or ‘POV: Your love language is gift giving.’
Pro Tip: Using your Share & Save link on social media is an easy way to save on Etsy fees! When you share a unique link to your shop or listings and make a sale, we’ll take 4% of the order total off your Etsy bill. It’s simple, free to sign up, and any Etsy seller can join. So use your unique trackable link next time you promote your shop on social media!
What has been your most popular social post during the holiday season? What resonates with your followers? Let us know in the comments below!

·7 months agoHi Tida, thank you for sharing these ideas they’re really helpful for the holiday season
Right now, I’m finding it difficult to stay consistent on Instagram due to time constraints. Are there any alternative ways Etsy recommends for sellers who aren’t very active on social media, but still want to reach buyers and drive holiday sales?
Thanks again for the support!

·8 months agoThank you for the tips — they were really helpful! I run an Instagram account, and in 2025 I’ve been focusing on connecting with my audience through Stories. Sometimes the response to certain content is completely unexpected. For example, this reel:

It behaved for a whole week as if it were boosted with ads — who would have thought? 😊
