Etsy Insights: 2023 fall trends to tap into

I’m Audrey on Etsy’s editorial team. I work on trend content for sellers, and I’m excited to share some highlights from our most recent Marketplace Insights report on fall 2023 shopping trends.

Fall harvest bundles: Tried-and-true maize motifs are coupled with thistles and blooming artichokes in a delightful pairing for the botanical-loving shopper. Consider these natural finds for decor, cards, and linens this autumn.

50% YoY increase in searches on Etsy containing “artichoke art”

Throwback halloween: Sustainability-minded shoppers and trendy upcyclers alike are expected to tap into vintage and secondhand for both costume supplies and decor, especially from the ‘80s and ‘90s.

67% YoY increase in searches on Etsy containing “vintage halloween decoration”

Punk meets prep: Continuing this year’s theme of duality, shoppers are inspired by the latest Fall Fashion Week styles that play with both refined lines and asymmetry, pair leather jackets and prep school pleated skirts, and integrate hot pink femme looks in a more dark, edgy context.

286% YoY increase in searches on Etsy containing “flower choker”

Utilitarian blazer: As capsule wardrobes continue to be top-of-mind for many consumers, a utilitarian blazer or jacket is a must-have. Celebs and influencers alike are gravitating to items like these that work in many contexts and aesthetics. Consider styling your items with a crisp jacket or adding one to your collection.

12% YoY increase in searches on Etsy containing “90s blazer”

Statement rugs: Interior designers know that rugs can swiftly transform a room, and shoppers are falling in love with pieces that offer pops of personality, bright colors, intricate designs, and plush vintage style.

Your Halloween goodies are wonderful. I also want to showcase physical products in my shop (my own clay artworks). My digital products didn't get much attention; I must have chosen the wrong category. Hopefully, my clay products will be popular..

I have been desperately trying to get a hold of Etsy for my issues. Someone is claiming my original artwork as infringement on theirs and Etsy has been removing my products just because they said so. I'm an user small shop that barely made $50 this year and this hurts me. I'm not getting any help or response. My guess is if you're a bigger business, you can crap all over the little guys like me.
