Etsy Insight: Getting featured on Etsy’s social media
Hi, I’m Evan and I work on the Etsy Social team where I manage our Etsy Success social channels (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube —be sure to follow us!). One question that we see come in a lot is how can sellers like you get featured on our social channels (both Etsy and Etsy Success). Besides some of the tips we’ve outlined in our Seller Handbook, we have some additional tips that could help increase your chances of being featured.
• Use our branded hashtags in your content. If you follow us on social, you know we suggest using hashtags like #EtsyProcess or #EtsyWorkspace. These hashtags are associated with content that we know does well on our channels—like process videos (#EtsyProcess) or peeks at your workspace (#EtsyWorkspace). We often comb through these tags to find relevant content for our channels, so be sure to use these hashtags on relevant posts. Pro Tip: Check out our #MakeItMeaningful campaign for more social sharing opportunities.
• Add your Etsy Shop or Pattern Webpage to your Link in Bio on Instagram. While this isn’t a requirement, it does increase your chances of getting your content featured on our social channels. This is one of the first things we look for when looking at shops or items to feature. It’s also a good way for you to help drive traffic back to your Etsy shop.
• Make sure your social profiles are up to date on your Etsy Shop page. When we spotlight great items, we always want to give proper credit, and the easiest way to do that is by having links to all your social media on your shop. We hate to have to forgo featuring an item because we couldn’t find the right social accounts to credit. So update those profiles! Find more on that here.
• Engage with our content. Sometimes we’ll put out prompts on our social channels and then feature the sellers who respond in our video content (like this video). It’s a great and easy way to help your shop get noticed by our team. So get out there and engage, engage, engage!
We can’t wait to see some of your faces (and usernames) on our social channels, and look forward to hopefully featuring even more of you this holiday season!

dear Evan, when I click on the FB link I land on the German page, but I'm aiming to be seen internationally...!
So is there anything I can do to get international visibility too? Or is this included?

·5 years agoI have two different Etsy shops. I have one for my handmade re-used leather fashion accessories and the other is vintage accessories. For this reason I have used my website address as my link in bio on Instagram since I use images for both shops. This way interested customers can navigate to which etsy shop they are interested in from my website. I am wondering if it is smart to reconsider this given you mentioned that Etsy is looking for accounts that are linked.

·5 years agoI have been putting some "process" type videos on my Instagram account, which then links to FB. It's been fun, but so far, I have only gotten noticed by my usual personal friends and crew. (And I hate to say it, but I think they have had about enough of my creations! LOL) I will persevere!

·6 years agoI don't expect to ever be featured because I watermark my images but I still follow Etsy on Instagram and use #etsy, #etsysuccess and #etsyfinds on my posts.
I've seen Etsy feature sellers who link to their own website in their bio.

·6 years agoThanks. This was a helpful post.
Does Etsy primarily look for finished mainstreamed products to highlight on its social media? I follow Etsy and Etsy Success on Intagram. It appears that the items highlighted are predominantly decor/home, jewelry and some paper products, vs supplies or niche items.
Are there product categories that sellers should focus on to become more appealing to Etsy's social media team?
