A little moment of joy this morning.

My first Etsy sale to a stranger. They bought me THREE small canvas.

I admit I am surprised to see a multiple purchase. Since I sell panoramic canvas of my photos, I didn't really think I was in a niche for repeated customers... even less for multiple sales in one go.

My shop has been opened for 5 weeks now. I had a friend who bought me 3, and now this stranger who bought 3. 5 different photos in total (out of 200+ listings).

Great way to start a day!

I know that is really annoying to find that with some sales, there has been little money made. You must

figure all of your fees, then the amount you want to make, plus the shipping price and then and only

then, will you make what you want. Good luck

well i have been here since last November just started adding more items got 2 sales lots views so hoping will get lots more however i may have to increase prices as i offer free postage and after everything has come out of it all i actually had to post my 2nd sale the customer got there item almost for free got for free...... so i did not make any profit it was priced at £11.79 united kingdom and i was only paid £3.85 out of that.... so that was my postage gone and no profits at all.... really annoyed at how much was taken out with it being my 2nd sale. so i will have to put the prices up to still offer the free postage or add postage instead. hoping i get lots more sales soon good luck everyone

Some days it is very slow and others are very busy. Yesterday, I sold 4 item so it was very nice.

My husband just passed away last Sunday, so it has been a sad week, except for talking to my

Etsy friends...my support group. I will work as hard as I can inspite of my loss.

There will be times when sales are slow and times when sales will be brisk. That is the way selling goes. You must follow the year of celebrations. Put many items on for Father's Day and 4th of July, Back to school items, Halloween, etc. Follow the trends and items that are popular. Respond to messages best you can, mail items out in a timely manner and wrap properly. Make friends with your Etsy sellers. They are so wonderful and helpful. My husband just passed and my Etsy friends have really been so helpful to me to get through the tough times and move along. Best to you all.

I had been reading all your comments and happy for you guys that your Etsy shop is growing. In my case I had completed two months in this platform and I hit 11 sales, maybe for some doesn't mean a lot but I am happy. Hope in the future my sales could increase and help other people feeling great and beautiful.

Hit 30 sales for the handmade magical dress ups i make. Each one takes roughly 2 hours to make, so feeling this is a huge achievement. Only opened properly in February this year and it has been steadily increasing in traffic and sales.

I started selling vintage transport related pins here on atsy since the beginning of june 2021. Now less then a year later I reached 300 sales. It's a great feeling!

I am thankful for a platform like etsy wher I can act out my hobby and have a little bit of extra income every month. Also looking through the forums here it really is a great community!

I haven't figured out how to read trends quite yet. I Joined in late October / early November of 2021. I got off to a slow start, but then sales took a turn and picked up to the point I wasn't sure if I could keep up, lol!!! I've seen some crazy spikes in sales and then some long drawn out lulls that made me nervous.... I am super excited to share that since I opened my shop I've received 65 five star reviews, one 4 star review, and sold over 170 items!! That brings me to about a 38 - 40% positive or 5 star review for the items I've sold, which I think is AWESOME!! Just hoping I can figure out trends and how to hedge them to avoid such lulls in my sales....

to know that I will be up to speed in my software and the partial blocks on my site can be lifted after about 8 weeks

I have been on Etsy since 2015, and I sell doll clothes as a hobby. I recently just published my first doll clothes pattern for my basic dress! I am so excited about this, and have worked pretty hard on it. But I am so glad that I decided to go ahead a publish it, it was definitely something I have never done before!

Hi everyone! I've been a long-time Etsy seller (since the beginning!) and just opened a new digital print shop, Printerbility. While it took a month to get some traffic, I now have 11 sales! A small milestone, but hope that things will pick up so I can earn some extra passive income. I was wondering though, I have 11 sales, but only two left reviews. Are there any Etsy best practices to asking customers for reviews when I'm selling digital downloads? I do have the suggestion of leaving a review in my order receipt, but I wasn't sure if it's appropriate to follow up with customers through messaging, maybe to check in, make sure they're happy and then ask for the review? Advice appreciated!

Hi all

been here since 2017 with custom rings. We have 12.400 sales so far. We had a good last year but this year man o man etsy is really giving us a hard time. They are constantly tweaking the algorithm which makes us bounce up and down. We can have a revenue of 2000 on one day and the next day zero, statistically this is not possible so etsy is definitely tampering with shops. Pushing us back and forth in sight of the buyers.

our biggest milestone would be if Etsy finally takes down alle the dropshippers/resellers as we are being crushed by shops that just simply buy their product and sell it for ridiculously prices and claiming it to be handmade. But unfortunately they bring in so much money for etsy that they just dont care its a company after all and all that counts is numbers.

our tip start your own website dont wait with that because sooner or later its your turn.

our income has decreased with 50% last year. Thanks to etsy and the resell shops.

I would just like to say a big thank you to Etsy, as without you I would be struggling, as I'm a single dad I found it hard to have a work / life balance while trying to raise my daughter.

I'm pretty much on my own and when I started Etsy I was not sure if it would work but was I wrong, I just passed my 11,357 Sales mark and still going strong. Etsy has given me the flexibility to be a dad and still earn a living, and for that you have my THANKS

When I decided to operate my own business I didn't know what would work for me. I went with Tee-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, and being a golf professional, I also tried sharing golf training aids, and some of the ebooks I have written. My motto was Everything Fits, From golf to basketball, baseball, and football. I also fell in love with Pickleball. But, still, I wasn't satisfied until my dogs started needing better food, treats, and toys. A light bulb went on and I decided to start making fresh and homemade dog food or homemade food for my dogs. When you put time and afford as well as Love into cooking and share it with your friend and their pets, there is a relief knowing that your dog or cat is getting the best you can buy. My goal is to give my pets as well as yours the best ingredients and cook them with Love and Care. Please enjoy Everything Fits Dog Treats.

Hello everyone, I'm from Ukraine, I used to sell vintage items and antiques, and my friend and I made custom hats. The situation has developed in such a way that I can not do what I used to do, and I decided to try to sell digitized drawings of my daughter and niece. And it was the right decision, the children are happy with every sale, and for this, I want to thank the ETSY platform and all my customers who supported our family and started buying our drawings.
