Getting good views, visits and favourites, but no sales yet
Hey everyone,
I recently started my Etsy shop — I’m getting a decent number of views, visits, and favourites so it seems people like my products but I haven’t made a single sale yet.I was wondering… is this normal for everyone in the beginning, or am I missing something in my listings or pricing?
How was your experience during your first few weeks or months on Etsy?
Honestly, could use a bit of motivation right now
Any tips or advice would be really appreciated

·9 months agoHello, I checked out your shop and it looks very beautiful and well-organized. Maybe your choice of products and pricing might require a little more time for the first sale. I was only able to make my first sale just yesterday, so you never know where or when it will happen. So please don’t get discouraged. Your products are great—keep going just like this!

·9 months agoI'm glad to see I'm not alone in this boat of traffic but no sales... although, I've been on for over a year since my relaunch. Plus, it's hard to balance the day life with the side hustle so I'm trying to stay positive.

·9 months agoYour rugs are really nice. If I may, if your shop is new, I don't understand why you're having sales. If possible, call it "Launch offers". Making almost 50% when starting makes people doubt of the real value of your work. Also, you say "tradition with modernization" but your banner is very classic. The products are cool and modern, it has to perspire everywhere.
One other idea: I'm on several interior decoration groups of FB, and I've notice many people have huge walls and don't know how to furnish them. You could give a try to one of your rugs as wall hanging, a textile hanging artwork.
Hope it helps a little, but I'm a newbie too.

·9 months ago · EditedI'm sorry, I can't help you, because I'm in the same boat. I've dropped my prices so much that I'm wondering after Etsy takes their part if it will still be worth it in the end. And my products are digital, so it's immediate downloads. No one even has to worry if they're not going to get it. I'm working hard on my shop and paying for Etsy ads as well as advertising on Facebook. I'm also feeling discouraged at this moment. And my shop has been up for longer than a month or so.
I favored your shop, not sure if it will help with anything, but hope it does.

·9 months agoYou need to build buyer confidence through reviews & sales history. Ask friends or family to purchase and leave a review, or run a big sale for the purpose of just getting some visible sales history.

·9 months agoI've been an Etsy seller for 14 years and do remember how long it took to make a sale - just hang in there! Looking at all these shops together, without commenting on each, I'd make a few general comments: (1) you need a full page, 12 items at least, to look like a "real" shop; (2) the lead photograph should focus on the item as large as possible, not a setting; (3) everything needs to be measured and any defects noted; (4) in order to be seen by the Etsy algorithm, you'll need to list or at least renew something daily. I completely understand how you feel. I’m going through the same thing right now. My shop just finished its first month too, and I haven’t made any sales yet. It can be discouraging at times, but seeing others share their experiences here really keeps me motivated.

·9 months agoMy shop has been on Etsy around 16 days and I’m having similar experience. In that time I’ve had 324 views, 149 visits with three sales. https://goodseamossgel.etsy.com Also I noticed that I get much better rankings locally than I do across the country.

·9 months agoThere's something missing in your titles. I had to go through decription to know if those are drinks, massage gels, nutrition complements.. You know too much about your product and assume others also. Even the photos don't help on how to use it. Don't take me wrong, just trying to help

The fact that you’re already getting views and favourites is a great sign -- it means Etsy’s algorithm is getting to know your shop. For items priced around $50-80, an average sale usually happens after about 150 listing clicks (not just shop visits). It’s only worth worrying if a listing gets twice that many clicks without a sale.
Keep adding new listings with varied SEO and different cover photos -- you never know which search terms will bring the right buyer to your shop. Your first sale might come sooner than you expect.
Also, I’d suggest adding a short note in your listing descriptions about customs or import fees for U.S. buyers -- who pays them, when, and how much. This topic is very relevant right now, and some buyers had unpleasant surprises, so it helps to make things clear upfront.

·9 months agoSeems everything is ok, just you have to work on price I think. And wait for some time, you will get a sale. It's normal.
