2 month old business here. My goal for this year is to attend as many events/markets as I can and hopefully spread the word about what I make. Possibly a bit optimistic as I only have two markets scheduled for 2026 but have to start somewhere ☺️

I'm going to do a full stock take and then take new photos of all my older multiple stock that I've not re-done for years as Etsy flagged on one of my listings as not having the best size photo. It reminded me that there have been so many changes in the size and shape of photo that I had better re-do them!

I also want to work on adding more photos of behind the scenes now that we can have 20 photos, and also re-writing my descriptions to be more AI friendly (even though I couldn't hate AI more).

I also want to update my photography for the shop. Not my favourite job (!!) but will be well worth it when it is done.

Interested about making the descriptions more AI friendly, what kind of things make it more AI friendly?

Sorry for the delay! I use Marmalead and they have an AI feature on there that I have been using that can give you suggestions. One of the most interesting ones are around questions and answers in your descriptions such as 'Are these earrings good for people with metal allergies? - Yes, they don't contain any metal at all so can be trusted not to cause a nickel allergy' and so on. The idea being that someone asking AI questions about gift giving may be shown your listing as the phrases are in there all ready.

I had a bit of a rubbish 2025 but wasn't really focused on Etsy so am determined to try everything this year. I've been gradually working through my listings and changing photos and trying new descriptions too, and even though it's early days I've had a better few weeks. I did wonder if eventually Etsy will show us AI stats from chapgtp etc, but as I don't really understand it I don't know if it is possible! It's all a lot more chatty and less list-y if that makes sense!
