·5 months agoHi! I really wish Etsy had a specific fine arts section, when I search my work seems to be mixed in amongst mass produced/AI generated images which are priced much lower. I feel like this makes my work get skipped over because it is priced higher. Any suggestions to make it stand out as “fine art” any help is greatly appreciated!

OP5 months agoAs a fellow artist, I completely understand the frustration. A lot of us feel the same way right now. When handmade work appears next to mass produced or AI generated images, it can make pricing and visibility feel like an uphill climb. The good news is there are a few ways to help signal that your work is original fine art.
One thing that helps is being very clear in your titles and descriptions. Phrases like “original painting,” “hand painted,” “one of a kind,” and listing your medium such as acrylic on canvas or watercolor on paper can help buyers searching specifically for fine art find you. Process photos or short videos can also help communicate authenticity because collectors love seeing the artist’s hand in the work.
Another strategy is storytelling. Many collectors on Etsy respond strongly to the story behind a piece. Sharing a little about your inspiration, process, and materials in the description can help distinguish your work from decorative prints or mass produced items. Pricing can also act as a signal. Serious collectors often expect original art to be priced differently from prints, so being confident in the value of your work can actually help attract the right buyers.
It is definitely not an easy landscape right now, but there are still many collectors on Etsy looking specifically for real handmade art. Clear keywords, process visibility, and strong storytelling can go a long way in helping the right audience recognize the value of what you create.

·6 months agoHello team, I am new to Etsy and I would like to grow my shop, and its search visibility, your support and guidance would be highly appreciated

OP6 months agoYour shop is set up beautifully and you should continue doing what you're doing. I do have a suggestion. Have a friend or family member make the first purchase. Perhaps give them a discount in exchange for a good review. Online selling is like a tip jar at a cafe or for a street performer. If the jar is empty; no one gives. But, if there's a few bills and coins in the jar already; people are more generous. Once that first sale is made, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will come more rapidly.
Also, make sure your shop can accept payments for sales. Visit "finances," and then select "payment settings." There, it should have all your banking information. This will include how Etsy will pay you. And at the bottom, all of the "accepted payment options."
Once you get that sale, let me know. I'll have other suggestions
Mike
PS - If you are having difficulty finding someone to make that first sale, you can trade with other shops at: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10237868248941070&set=gm.2343664902726459&idorvanity=271594646600172

- Sales and conversion tips
Those who sell digital art, how do you organize your work week? How much time do you dedicate to creating products, researching trends, uploading products to Etsy, and promoting them?

OP7 months agoThanks for the suggestion. For some reason, Etsy tookl that post down. So, I've uploaded it again. Here it is:

·7 months agoThank you. Lighting always seems to be an issue. It's extremely cold and snowy outside - I can't do any photos outside. Inside lighting can be tricky. I always seem to get too many shadows. But I never tried using 2 LED's. I think I will try that.
MikeKrausArt
OP7 months agoLighting can be difficult. If it's too cold outside, I have a window that gets good light. But, when those options aren't available, my LED lights work great. Sometimes better than going outside even.

·7 months agoI would love to work with artists, painters and illustrators. We are a team of designers in New York City, our shop since the start is about weddings. You are welcome to contact us if you are interested in weddings/events stationery. We can do biz.
We have seen factories set up shop on Etsy. There was a shop that tried to copy from us. They stopped. We have withheld our original designs from being sold on Etsy. It's really good to know that the best wedding planners ask for unique, not factory made. You should take a good look at your work and see what is truly unique, not factory made. Or by AI.
This team is a big part of what makes a community happen, don't let the wacky politics make you feel it's impossible to be creative. Don't just show your work, show how art is a bright shining light in the darkness. And if you could show us how you can adapt your work for weddings, we would be glad to have a conversation and help you too.
MikeKrausArt
OP7 months agoIt is encouraging to hear from designers who are actively collaborating with artists and valuing originality and thoughtful work. Weddings and events are such meaningful moments, and it is refreshing to hear how much your clients appreciate unique and intentional design.
You raise an important point about creativity and authenticity. The ART Team really is strongest when we focus on what makes our work personal, human, and expressive. Art has a powerful way of bringing light, connection, and beauty into spaces and experiences, especially during moments people will remember for a lifetime.
I appreciate the invitation to think more broadly about how our work might live beyond the shop page and into real world celebrations. Conversations like this are exactly what help keep this community supportive, creative, and forward looking.
Thanks again for being part of the ART Team and for encouraging collaboration and openness.

·7 months agoThanks Mike! Appreciate all you do. We are glad to be part of this team. This is a year that will encourage artists and artisans to take time away from the mess and find the bless. New connections. New biz. Just mention finding us through the ART Team if interested in collaboration. We have been on Etsy 17 years, designers longer than that. All the best for 2026!

OP7 months agoOf course! And what a great mindset you and your organization have.
And I'll be sure to share your name with some of my customers. I receive quite a few requests for newly engaged couples. In fact, I'm working on one now. I'll let them know about your shop.
THANKS AGAIN and please let me know if you need anything
