It’s absolutely terrible when some accounts follow me, then next week they again follow me (because yes, probably they have unfollowed me before ;(. ) Better not to follow people at all if you are not interested in their posts. Really.

If i "follow" "unfollow" and "follow" you again it is because AI has unfollowed you on my feed. I have no clue why that happens. I do not do it on purpose.

·1 year ago@WrapsodysndInk I did not complain about being unfollowed, because I didn't even notice it. I am sorry if you got the feeling of being pointed at. I just explained what happens when people follow and unfollow.
But you are right about something: on the browser IG has some serious glitches and it shows me I do not follow some people anymore. But after I check their stories or some posts, it switches back to following. So I started ignoring this because I believe it's a bug and we are not actually unfollowing those accounts. IG does not care much about the browser, it wants us to use their platform, so they might not fix browser users bugs.
It could also be why Inna sees all those accounts following and unfollowing her all the time.

·1 year agoMary Ann (some others too), please, you don’t need to follow and unfollow me - yes, I see it, but instagram nowadays is about ENGAGING with posts, not with the number of followers who don’t care.
I follow only a few people from Etsy because we devote some time to read our posts and write MEANINGFUL comments to each other. And instagram’s AI considers it as engagement.
It’s AI all over, I also don’t want Instagram to show me profiles with gift boxes - I don’t engage with such content regardless how beautiful they are.
Sorry, but I kindly ask people who follow and unfollow me to stop doing it every week. It’s not personal, i just want to save our mutual time. I’m interested in followers who love crocheting and who would read/see what I post.
Liking posts in these games is sufficient for me, so that my followers see some likes and maybe like my posts too. Meaningful comments are good. Writing “great“, , , “good job “ in 2025 is considered as spam by Instagram’s AI in 2025. When my followers open my posts and see some generic comments “wow”, “perfect”, they don’t want to ask things important for that post. And Instagram thinks that my REAL followers are not engaged, which is bad for that post.
We ALL want Instagram to show our posts to people who care and not to people who harm us by following & unfollowing and not reading our posts. Instagram doesn’t care about “generic followers”.
I’m writing it here hoping that others would stop their not “engaging behaviour”. And maybe wish to read what impacts their Instagram posts and profiles in 2025.
In Etsy games liking is sufficient. Thank you!

·1 year ago@CONCEPTcreativeSTORE I also have to add something here: following and unfollowing accounts will get your account into IG jail. Meaning they will limit your posts, comments and reach for a certain of time.
I believe people don't to this to harm themselves or the others, they just don't understand how IG works.
I was also contacted by someone here with some 10K+ followers asking how come I get so many likes when I only have 3K followers. Well, as you said it, I have and keep the right followers and I engage with them. I also don't do freebies to collect people that just want stuff for free. IG will only show your content to a certain percentage of your followers. So why waste it on useless followers?
I hope this extra info helps some of the people here understand more about IG.
