3. Improvements to fulfilling gift orders
In January, we launched Etsy gift teaser to all buyers globally opening up more possibilities for last-minute shoppers to purchase extra-special gifts from sellers like you. And over the past few months we’ve continued to improve the gift shopping experience through gift teaser video messages and themes and the expansion of Gift Mode to all global markets.
We heard your feedback about gift orders! We’re making a few changes to the seller experience that will make fulfilling gift orders more seamless and efficient.
- Clarifying the ‘note to seller’ field
Gift buyers are 4x as likely to use the ‘note to seller’ field than non-gift buyers—and often use it to ask you to add a gift note (even when you don’t offer it!). We’re updating the ‘note to seller’ copy in cart and checkout to better clarify to buyers where gift messages should be entered.
- Adding a new gift teaser badge to orders
We know it can be confusing to see a gift note attached to an order when your messages are disabled. We’re adding a NEW badge to orders in Shop Manager to show when a gift teaser is included on an order.
- Alerting you of a gift teaser added post-purchase
We’ll be making a change that allows buyers to add a gift teaser post-purchase. When that happens, we’ll badge the order in Shop Manager with the 3 gift badges.
- Updating enabling and disabling messaging
We’ve updated the messaging in Shop Options to make it clearer to enable or disable offering gift messages with purchases.
We’ll continue to optimize both the seller and buyer gifting experience over the coming months as part of Etsy’s journey to become the go-to gifting destination. Ahead of the upcoming holiday season, make sure you’re highlighting your incredible items to gift shoppers by using relevant gift-worthy titles and tags, and offering extra add-ons like gift wrap and gift messages!
4. You can now show shoppers more accurate delivery dates
A reminder to sellers in the US and Canada—to help you take control of your schedule and show shoppers more accurate delivery estimates, we’ve made improvements that allow you to account for national postal holidays in your order processing schedule.
The new holiday setting is designed to accurately reflect your schedule. Adding a holiday into your schedule means you’re able to process (package or prepare) orders on that day. Review your holiday schedule here.
We’ll see you next month with a new batch of Etsy Updates. Stay close to the Etsy Community on Instagram and here in the Forums to join the conversation and get the latest updates. As always, we’ll share news you need to know and other updates in the Announcements section of the Forums and in the Seller Handbook.
